Membership in the Child and Adolescent Development Chapter is open to all individuals and membership is free! The chapter offers networking, professional development opportunities, mentoring and student scholarships.

Dr. Carol S. Kelly Endowment Scholarship (Two $1,000 scholarships awarded)
The goal of the Dr. Carol Kelly Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or alumnus who demonstrates leadership through community involvement and who will be pursuing a graduate degree at CSUN.
Holding Hands Scholarship (One $1,000 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Holding Hands Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or alumnus who is the first family member to pursue a graduate degree at CSUN and whose career goal is to work with children or adolescents challenged with behavioral and mental health needs.
Healthy Minds Consulting Scholarship (One $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Healthy Minds Consulting Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or alumnus whose career goal is to work professionally with children or adolescents and is involved in advocacy or intends to pursue a career in this realm.
Brighter Minds Scholarship (One $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Brighter Minds Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or CADV alumnus who is the first family member to pursue a degree in higher education and whose goal is to pursue a career with children and/or adolescents in behavioral or mental health.
Nedjat Gabbaie Scholarship (Two $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Nedjat Gabbaie Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or alumnus whose career goal is to work with children or adolescents challenged with learning disabilities or is currently working with this population.
Jackey Konialian Scholarship (One $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Jackey Konialian Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or alumnus whose goal is to work with children and adolescents challenged with special educational needs and/or is currently working with this population.
"Sí podemos" Scholarship (One $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the "Sí podemos" Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major or CADV alumnus who is the first family member to pursue a degree in higher education and whose goal is to pursue a career with children and/or adolescents in behavioral or mental health.
Alternative Solutions – Youseff Hodaly Scholarship (One $500 scholarship awarded)
The goal of the Alternative Solutions – Youseff Hodaly Scholarship is to support a Child and Adolescent Development major and/or Psychology undergraduate who is a single parent returning to school to pursue a degree working with children, adolescents, or families.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a Child and Adolescent Development major or CADV alumnus returning to CSUN.
- Eligible academic levels include: Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, Master’s, Doctoral, and Credential students.
- Must demonstrate well-balanced and meaningful involvement and leadership in community and/or extracurricular activities.
- Must be in good academic standing and demonstrate academic competency.
- Must have a minimum CSUN cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Enrollment requirement for CSUN coursework during the 2026–2027 academic year:
- Recipients of $1,000 scholarships must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 units per term.
- Recipients of $500 scholarships must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units per term.
- For alumni or graduating seniors, verification of acceptance into a post-baccalaureate or graduate program at CSUN and/or verification of enrollment for the Fall 2026 semester must be submitted before the scholarship is awarded.
