AI Task Force
Overview
Given the breadth and complexity of its scope, the AI task force will not be able to complete its work in a single semester or even academic year. Likewise, the dynamic growth of AI capabilities will introduce new issues as the Task Force does its work. For these reasons, we expect the Task Force to continue its work for multiple semesters. Membership may rotate over that time with a core group of interested stakeholders providing continuity.
Responsibilities
In its first semester, we encourage the Task Force to identify and focus on issues that enable CSUN to build the foundational structures and capabilities to facilitate the ethical and effective adoption of AI over the long-term. In this first semester of work, we seek your guidance to:

Informed by current use cases or closely anticipated needs, determine near term actions CSUN should take to create agile structures, technologies, and services to facilitate faculty, student and staff exploration and adoption of AI capabilities.

Establish methods and structures to connect individuals at CSUN with similar or complementary interests or pursuits in AI adoption to share knowledge, identify successful practices and foster new collaborations.

Recommend additional topics for the Task Force to focus on in upcoming semesters and suggest ways in which to structure on-going advisory and governance groups to support AI topics and issues.
