Welcome to the homepage of the Department of Busines Law. The mission of the Department of Business Law is to enable students, through excellence in teaching, to recognize and analyze legal issues arising in the business environment.  Our faculty and staff are dedicated to the success of our students, and our program is designed to prepare students for future careers as leaders in our community.  Please explore the many links of our website, which detail our course offerings, the requirements for the option in Business Law, scholarship opportunities, law school information, the Business Law Association, as well as information about our distinguished faculty.

Spring, 2010: Business Law Textbook Affordability Initiative

The department has worked with publishers to have textbooks available online in addition to hardcopy. The department agreed to make the use of such texts mandatory for all core classes and desirable for all electives. For the more than 1,300 students taking BLAW I and II along with BLAW 508 this spring, this reduces the cost of textbooks from approximately $180 to less than $25 for most undergraduates and less than $40 for graduate students. For all but one elective, texts are available as e-copies or in discounted reprints through Quick Copies. The complete list is available on this website under "student resources".
