Virtual/Remote Advisement during COVID-19 Situation

***Due to the COVID-19 crisis, Nazarian College Student Services Center/EOP staff are working remotely. 

Our advising team is available to provide advisement and to assist you with your questions.  Please send us a detailed email and we will respond in a timely manner, in the order the emails are received.

  • Your first and last name
  • CSUN Student ID
  • Reason for advisement

CSUN Students Interested in Nazarian College Majors

To explore majors and minors offered by Nazarian College of Business and Economics, please review the Degree Planners and Advisement Sheets. It is suggested that CSUN students thinking about changing their major to business complete the Nazarian College Overview Online Workshop.

Continuing Students

Nazarian College students in good standing who are NOT enrolled in BUS 302/L may seek advisement by calling (818) 677-3537 or by emailing appointments_ssceop@csun.edu to schedule an appointment.

Upper Division Continuing Students

  • Nazarian College students in good standing who are enrolled or who have completed their BUS 302/L may meet with their Upper Division Mentor for advisement.

  • To meet with their Upper Division Mentor, Economics majors must first complete their lower division Economics core, be in good standing and complete 60 units.

Academic Probation

Nazarian College Students

  • Students will have a registration hold during the semester immediately following placement on probation and each fall and spring semester thereafter while on probation. Prior to registration, business majors must schedule an appointment with an advisor by calling (818) 677-3537 or by emailing appointments_ssceop@csun.edu.  The registration hold will be removed once the student has been advised.

Students not currently majoring in Business

  • Among other requirements, in order to declare a major in the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, students must have at least a 2.0 CSUN and Total GPAs. To explore majors offered by Nazarian College of Business and Economics, please review the Degree Planners and Advisement Sheets.  Academic Advisors are unable to remove probation holds for students who are not declared Business majors. It is suggested that students complete the Nazarian College Overview and Probation Online Workshops prior to meeting with an advisor. Please email to schedule an advisement appointment.

Academic Disqualification

It is suggested that previously disqualified  students complete the Disqualification Online Workshop prior to meeting with an advisor. To schedule an appointment with an advisor, please call (818)677-3537 pr  email appointments_ssceop@csun.edu.

Academic Performance Agreement (APA)

Previously Disqualified students who have been readmitted to CSUN will be required to meet with a Nazarian College Academic Advisor until both their CSUN and total GPAs are at least a 2.0. Please call (818)677-3537 or email appointments_ssceop@csun.edu to schedule an advisement appointment.

First-Time EOP Freshmen (FALL 2020)

Academic advisement is mandatory for all first-time freshmen prior to registration.  As soon as you are admitted to CSUN, please be sure to check your CSUN email regularly and your Portal account to ensure that you do not miss any important registration information.

The David Nazarian College of Business and Economics Student Services Center and EOP satellite advises first-time freshmen who are admitted to the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP).  If you have been admitted to EOP, please contact us at (818) 677-3537 or appointments_ssceop@csun.edu for more information about scheduling your mandatory academic advising appointment. 

All other freshmen will schedule their mandatory advisement sessions with the Matador Advising Hub.

First-Time Transfer (FALL 2020)

To ensure your success, advisement is highly recommended prior to registration for all incoming transfer students.

Advisement for incoming transfer students will begin April and will continue through mid-July.  To schedule an appointment, please call (818) 677-3537, email appointments_ssceop@csun.edu, or wait for appointment invitation to be sent to your CSUN email.
