The programs and services of the Klotz Student Health Center are a benefit for currently enrolled students; health insurance is neither provided nor accepted for services at the Student Health Center at this time. However, students are strongly encouraged to have a health insurance policy to cover major medical expenses.
Please note that the financial responsibility rests with the student for all care beyond the scope of the Klotz Student Health Center.
Covered California is California's online marketplace where you can compare and choose health insurance plans as required by the Federal Affordable Care Act. You will also be able to learn if you qualify for Medi-Cal, California's Medicaid health insurance program.
In addition to providing a breadth of free health care and education services, the Klotz Student Health Center participates in programs such as Family Pact and fee-for-service Medi-Cal that can help eligible students who need free or many low-cost services. We invite students to visit the Student Health Center for a free consultation with a doctor, nurse or health educator to explore their health and wellness needs and options. (If you are enrolled in a managed care (HMO) Medi-Cal plan, you may be referred to your assigned primary care provider for certain services.)
