The following specialists and specialties are available at the Klotz Student Health Center.
A dermatologist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and conditions of the skin, hair or nails. Dermatology costs are $25 for new appointments, $15 for follow-up appointments and $30 for procedure appointments. Additional charges may apply.
Late/no-show charge: $25 for new or procedure appointments and $15 for follow-up appointments.
A gynecologist specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the female reproductive system.
Immunization services include Hepatitis B vaccine, measles/mumps/rubella, meningoccocal vaccine, HPV vaccine, TDAP (Tetanus), flu shots, TB tests and a wide range of travel immunizations. Blood tests (titers) are available to determine immunity. For more information, please review CSUN’s immunization requirements.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) states, "breastfeeding ensures the best possible health as well as the best developmental and psychosocial outcomes for the infant." The Klotz Student Health Center can arrange a private location for breastfeeding or collection of breast milk. If interested, please call (818) 677-3666 and make an appointment. Ask to speak with someone in the Clinical Support Unit to reserve available space.
Nutrition services are provided by a registered dietitian and peer nutrition counselors (PNCs). Private appointments are available for dietary analyses and to discuss weight loss or gain, healthy eating, sports nutrition, healthy recipes, cultural dietary issues and medically related dietary needs. Services are free to currently enrolled students. The cost is $25 for faculty and staff to have a consultation with a registered dietician. An appointment with a peer nutrition counselor is free for faculty and staff. Appointments can be made online.
Physical therapy is available by prescription and referral from the Klotz Student Health Center or an outside health care provider. The cost is $5 per visit.
Podiatrists diagnose and treat medical and surgical problems of the feet and ankles. Podiatrist services are free to currently enrolled students.
Services are available for those who are interested in quitting smoking. Physician services and/or behavior modification support provided by our alcohol, tobacco and other drugs counselor are both available. Smoking cessation services are free to currently enrolled students.
Sports Medicine Specialist
Services are available to help athletes and others perform to their personal best. Sports medicine services are free to currently enrolled students.
Substance Use Counseling
Our alcohol, tobacco and other drugs counselor is available to speak with students who have concerns regarding alcohol and other drug use. Substance use counseling services are free to currently enrolled students.
Consultations are available for health concerns and recommended immunizations when traveling abroad. Appointments should be scheduled four to six weeks before travel. For students, the consultation charge is $10 per visit for personal travel and free for academic travel. For faculty and staff, the consultation charge is $25. Immunizations are offered at low cost.
