Update: You are allowed to bring guest to the event. If you plan on bringing anybody outside of the fraternity please notify Ezequiel and let him know who they are so that they can be added to our guest list.

Price and package:
$16 per skater, including reserved outdoor seating - also includes skate rentals, unlimited skating time, food package (choice of hot dogs or burgers, fruit tray, ice tea or lemonade), goody bags (including a 50% off return pass), paper goods, stickers for all party attendants, PA event announcement, song selections and two presonal party host.

Date and Time:
December 3rd, 2010, Friday Night
8:00pm to 12:00am

Honey Bake 2010

honeybakedham

Honey Bake is an annual social gathering with our PhiDE family in which we get the chance to eat tons of food, socialize, and learn more about each other. Everyone brings a dish of food that they feel represents their culture, background, or personal self. In the past we have had dishes as diverse as “pupusas” (a Salvadoran dish) all the way to shepherd’s pie (an English meat pie). In essence, it is sort of like a pot-luck but with more love.

Date: Friday, November 19th, 2010
Location: Bianca’s House (for the address see Fall 2010 Roster, available in the database.)
Time: 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Activities: board games, ice-breakers, outside activities, pot-luck, socializing.

Rush Fall 2010

Rushees can visit the Recruitment Page for more Rush information.

It’s that time of year again - and in order for Rush Fall '10 to be a success, everyone needs to do their part in promoting Phi Delta Epsilon to CSUN students. Here’s how you can help:

Please start making class room announcements next week in your science classes or any class you believe has any pre-medical students who might be interested in rushing for PhiDE. Partner up with another PhiDE member if you are shy and make sure to ask your professors for permission a day or 2 before to use a couple of minutes to make the announcement at the beginning of the class period. Just make it short and simple and say something like this:

"Hi I am a member of Phi Delta Epsilon we are professional, co-ed, pre-medical fraternity...we are a fraternity committed to community service, our philanthropy Children's Miracle Network (CMN) and we are also committed to helping our members be the best students they can be to make sure that they enter medical school or whatever grad school they are interested in. We provide leadership opportunities, networks in the medical field, academic help, community service opportunities and all Phi Delta Epsilon members receive a 20% discount on Kaplan prep courses..we also provide a strong social network to help and guide you through the process of applying to medical school..." Give them the link to our website as well.

Add what you like to it but make sure to announce the Rush dates and times and print out the official flyer to pass out in class. You can print 20 pages for free in the computer lab above the MIC in the USU and also cut the flyers there to make small hand outs. Please let Bianca know what class you can make announcements in. If you can't make an announcement you can also post up flyers or hand them out in class.

Labor Day Beach Day!

Knowing that rush is coming up soon, this is a time in which we as a organization want to become closer to one another so there won't be to any misunderstandings or arguments. How do we avoid this? Well, one way is by getting in some bonding time with one another and what better way and day to do that then Labor Day at the BEACH! A few of us will be going to Zuma beach on Labor Day (Monday) so if any of you care to join, feel free to email or call Jeff for more information.

Summer Retreat Attendees & Dates *Updated*

Current list of attendees for the Summer Retreat August 13-15:

Mellad, Ezequiel, Roxanna, Oswaldo, Casey, Tamy, Yasmin, Robbie, Jasmine, Lauren, Olga, Bianca, Andrew, Jorge, Ashley, Jonatan

If your name is listed here but you do not want to come, please let Mellad know. These names are based on who responded via e-mail first. As of now this is the maximum, but if any of these people decide not to go, we will have available spots. If you would like to be put on a waiting list, let Mellad know ASAP and he will put you on a list based on a first-come first-served basis.

We will be calling and reserving the cabin this weekend, so please respond ASAP. If people who are on the list do not respond, they will be taken off the list because we need to know who is going so that we can collect the fees for the trip.

More information to follow later this week, including the price of the retreat.

Update: Mellad is still awaiting responses from members who initially signed up. If we do not get enough responses from the people who are going we will have to cancel the retreat due to the price increasing to over $100. As it stands, there are only about 7 people who are confirmed attendees so RESPOND TO MELLAD ASAP!

Update 2: Due to conflicting schedules of many members, the Summer Retreat has been canceled.

PhiDE Summer BBQ *Updated*

Thursday, July 15, 2010 12:30pm - 5:00pm at Reseda/Northridge Park (same location as RUSH event). This will not be coming out of the PhiDE budget; look at this event as more of a potluck BBQ.

Please RSVP on Facebook and spread the word to other chapters. Also, write on the Facebook wall if you can bring any of the following:

- 2 bags of chips
- hot dogs
- hot dog buns
- burger patties
- burger buns
- cheese
- ketchup/mustard
- water balloons
- case of water
- 1 bag of ice
- basketball/football/frisbee

Update: Due to the recent heat wave, the BBQ has been canceled. A new social event will be scheduled in the near future - stay tuned.

Summer Retreat Planning

The plan is for two Nights and three days from 8/6 to 8/8. We would like a head count and possible activities any potentially participating members would like to do. Attendance limited so please contact Mellad, Jeff or Ezequiel ASAP if you are interested in going. The current possible area is Lake Arrowhead where we would get a cabin. This is subject to change until all plans are finalized.
