The Department of Finance, Real Estate, and Insurance offers two CFP® Board-Registered undergraduate programs:
(1) Bachelor of Science in Finance – Sequence in Personal Financial Planning (2) Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Option in Insurance and Financial Services – Sequence in Personal Financial Planning
The Sequence in Personal Financial Planning is a set of courses approved by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards to prepare students to sit for the CFP Certification Examination.
CFP Certification is a recognized standard for personal financial planners. Personal financial planners work with individuals to help them meet their financial objectives. It is a fast-growing and rewarding field.
The requirements for the certification include: Step One - an education requirement, Step Two - an examination, Step Three - appropriate work experience, and Step Four - an ethics requirement. Completing a CFP Board-Registered Program at CSUN will satisfy the first step of the requirements and allow the student to apply for the CFP Certification Exam.
