California State University‚ Northridge Family Business Education and Research Center is the premier resource to family businesses located in the greater San Fernando Valley‚ Santa Clarita Valley and Ventura County. The Family Business Education and Research Center provides timely and relevant information specific to the needs of family businesses through seminars‚ support groups‚ networking‚ consulting‚ referrals‚ and research. We form partnerships in the local business community to advance family business development and to increase understanding of issues surrounding family owned businesses while fostering relationships between the university‚ our students‚ and the business community.
Programs and activities are driven by the needs and interests of its members. Topics to be addressed include the many issues related to succession; motivating and compensating key family and non-family employees; decision making and governance; dynamics in and outside the business; raising capital; growth and exit strategies; estate planning; risk management; international trade; and more.
