Information Technology is thrilled to announce that Dr. Mathew Williams has joined us as the Director of Instructional Technology in the Academic Technology Department. With over 16 years of experience in technology management, educational development, and digital transformation within higher education, Matt brings a wealth of expertise to our team.
Prior to joining CSUN, he held various leadership positions at the University of California Irvine, including Principal Analyst for Emerging Technology and Strategic Projects, Manager of Learning Technologies, and Instructional Designer and Developer.
Matt also served as Chair of the UC System-Wide Educational Technology Leadership Committee and co-chaired the UCI Instructional Cloud Computing Committee and UCI Learning Technology Advisory Group. These efforts reflect a broader career dedicated to leveraging technology and education research to enable more equitable and inclusive approaches to higher education.
Dr. Williams holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from the University of Southern California, an M.S. in Instructional Design and Technology from California State University, Fullerton, and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine.
In his new role as Director of Instructional Technology, Matt will lead the design and delivery of academic technology services, oversee the Faculty Technology Center, and provide a strategic vision for instructional technology at CSUN.
