Device Loaner Program

Important Notice: 

Students who currently have a Summer 2021 loaner device in their possession, and are currently enrolled for Fall 2021, will have the opportunity to request a loan extension through the end of the Fall 2021 term. If you fall into this category, an email will be sent to you. 

Students who are not enrolled for the Fall 2021 term or not planning on renewing should return their equipment as soon as possible to the CSUN Campus Store. The deadline to return Summer 2021 equipment is August 25, 2021. 

Students visiting the campus must complete the COVID-19 screening survey before their arrival. 

The Device Loaner Program is now available to currently enrolled Fall 2021 CSUN students. The program provides technology to students who are without a device such as a computer or internet hotspot so that they may continue their education uninterrupted. These devices will be checked out at no cost to current students (student ID or Driver's License required) for the Fall 2021 term. The loaning of devices further supports our on-going physical distancing efforts, based upon evolving evidence and guidance, by decreasing the possibility of COVID-19 transmission in campus-based computer labs. Fall 2021 devices need to be returned by the end of the Fall 2021 term. 

What Devices Can I Borrow?

      • Intel Core i5 Processor
      • 8 GB RAM
      • 250 GB Hard Drive
  • Webcam
  • Hotspot
  • Headset

How Can I Request a Device?

Currently enrolled students (Fall 2021) with a student ID can begin the request process by completing the Device Loaner Request Form

  1. Log in to the myNorthridge portal. 
  2. From the Services tab, go to the Student Services section. 
  3. Select the Device Loaner Request Form link. 
  4. Complete the form and submit your request. 

Where Can I Pick Up/Drop Off the Device?

Devices can be picked up and dropped off at the CSUN Campus Store (Bookstore), Monday through Friday, between 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Parking is available in the F2 parking lot. Parking permits are required at all times. Students parking and leaving their vehicles unattended without parking permits may receive citations. 

Physical distancing of six-feet or more will be followed at all times. Students visiting the campus must complete the COVID-19 screening survey before their arrival. 

What Can I Do If I Don't Have Access to the Internet?

If you do not have internet connectivity, request an internet hotspot by completing the Device Loaner Request Form noted above, or visit: resources for internet connectivity for users who do not have it.
