The STEM Transfer and Research Training (START) Office at CSUN is dedicated to supporting the success of STEM transfer students. The office serves as a central hub where students can connect with peers, access valuable resources through workshops, and explore research opportunities.
Housed within the START Office, the Badge Project is a peer mentorship program designed to help STEM transfer students thrive. Through a series of one-on-one and small-group workshops, the program covers topics such as exploring research careers, applying for summer research programs, and planning for senior year. With a strong focus on transfer-receptive practices, the Badge Project empowers students with the skills and confidence needed to pursue graduate education, research pathways, and professional careers in STEM.
