MAC OS - Accessing CSUN's Network

Introduction

This guide provides setup instructions to connect to CSUN’s network (EduRoam). The benefit of connecting to the ‘eduroam’ network is the ability to access the Internet at other participating institutions by using your CSUN email address and password. 

Setting Up the Eduroam Network

1.Select the AirPort icon AirPort icon.  in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.

2. If there is no eduroam option, select Other Networks then Other

 Other networks.

3. The Find and join a Wi-Fi network window displays. Enter or select the following:

  • In the Network Name field, type eduroam. This is a case-sensitive field.
  • From the Security drop-down menu, select WPA2 Enterprise.
  • From the Mode drop-down menu select Automatic.

4. Additional fields open (see Figure 3, below). Enter or select the following:

  • In the Username field (enter your CSUN email address)
  • In the Password field enter your CSUN Password.
  • Make sure that the Remember this network checkbox is checked.

 Eduroam fields to complete.

5. Select the Join button.

Note: if you typed in your Username and/or password incorrectly, you may be asked to enter the information again.

6. Select the Continue button on the Verify Certificate window. 

7. If configuration is successful, you should now see eduroam as an option in your AirPort connection options. It should also have the encrypted (lock) symbol next to it.
