Self-care, well-being, and social change

April 29, 2024

Dear COE Community,

This week we celebrate May Day and our gorgeous natural world. This is a great time to take a moment to just stop what we are doing, thinking, being distracted by, and gaze at the wonder of nature around us. Nature is one of the best sources of self-care. A blog in Psychology Today titled, “Nurtured by nature”, states, “Psychological research is advancing our understanding of how time in nature can improve our mental health and sharpen our cognition.” So give this deep drink of nature’s beauty to yourself this May Day and every day.

For a list of other self-care options, please see our COE self-care website for resources for faculty, staff, students, and the community at:

Happy May Day and May the 4th be with you!

Warmly,

Shari
