How To Apply to MSA

Only complete applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee. Completion of the admissions file is the sole responsibility of the applicant.    


To apply for the Master of Science in Accountancy (MSA) Program, you will need to: 

(1) Submit the online Graduate Application for the California State University System ( along with a $55 application fee). 

(2) Submit the departmental application:

(3) Send all of your transcripts and TOEFL scores (if necessary) to the Office of Admissions and Records

(4) Submit your GMAT scores to code PVC-C4-19. (CSUN B.S. in Accountancy students do not need to take the GMAT unless their overall GPA is less than 3.0).

Application Fee

Submit a $55 (U.S.) application fee payable to The California State University. The fee is non-refundable and may not be transferred to another term. Specific payment instructions are available when you submit your online application. 


The CSUN MSA program requires that you submit official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended. Official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions and Records and must be in their original sealed envelope.

GMAT Scores

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is the primary test for admission to the CSUN MSA Program. All applicants to the MSA program are required to take the GMAT. CSUN B.S. in Accountancy students do not need to take the GMAT unless their overall GPA is below a 3.0.

English Language Proficiency (International Students) 

 Please have all scores sent directly to CSUN code 4707 directly from testing agency. 

TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language with a minimum Paper-Based score of 550, a minimum Computer-Based score of 213, or a minimum Internet-Based score of 79-80.

IELTS  - International English Language Test System with a score of 6.5 or higher. 

Pearson's - Pearson's Test of English with a minimum score of 58.
