Video Resources for Math & Science Educators

Read The Sourcebook for Teaching Science, 6.1, 16.4, 16.5

(1) Review library Science & Math Video Resources: Obtain an educational science or mathematics video from a library and provide a link to the accompanying teacher or student study guide. Bring the video to class.

(2) Develop a study guide for a DVD: Develop a study guide and en electronic playlist for a lesson using Planet Earth, Blue Planet, or a DVD of your choice.

Your study guide should contain: (1) Factual questions, (2) Analytical questions, (3) Open-ended or hypothetical questions with references to your associated movie play list. It should also include links to relevant images, maps, diagrams, or facts that provide the necessary context or data for your questions.

(3) Develop a study guide for an online video: Select a relevant show from Nova or other online video resource, and develop a study guide with questions that address at least four different level of reasoning (See the Sourcebook for Teaching, 6.1).

Your study guide should contain: (1) Factual questions, (2) Analytical questions, (3) Open-ended or hypothetical questions with references to your associated movie play list. It should also include links to relevant images, maps, diagrams, or facts that provide the necessary context or data for your questions.
