Location:Welcome New CSUN Tenure-Track Faculty! This is not your mama's Orientation. There will be student performances, networking opportunities, and a plethora of engaging presentations from administrators of all type and kind - you get one-on-one time and access in ways that other universities do not typically offer. CSUN is a learner-centered institution and we begin with New Faculty Orientation (NFO)! You will gain some best practices for teaching, be introduced to research and grants opportunities, and walk away with free stuff (one committee member's whole job is getting you free goods)!!!! You will be connected to a NFO committee member who will be your conduit for all things CSUN (Syllabus ideas? How to use our Learning Management System? Where's a good sushi place for lunch? How to engage with hard-to-reach students? How to maintain a work/life balance? How do I navigate the promotion process?). It will be a valuable and good use of your time and you should make every effort to attend this two-day event if at all possible. Breakfast and lunch provided. See you soon!
