Badge Project

Badge workshops will be offered both via Zoom (Wednesday evening) and in-person (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

  • If you choose the virtual option, you will be provided with instructions on how to access the Zoom workshop after you have RSVP-ed for a workshop.

  • If you choose the in-person option, the workshops will be held at Sierra Hall 322 (SH 322).

Overview

The Badge Project is a two-year series of helpful workshops on various topics, such as intro to research careers, attending national conferences, and applying for summer research opportunities. The project incorporates transfer receptive culture into the workshops to better prepare STEM transfer students for graduate school, research careers, or professional careers.

Workshop 1: Research Careers 101

Description

Are you curious about what a research career entails and how to get there from here? Join us at Research Careers 101 to explore different career options in your field of study!  

No prior knowledge required -- just bring your enthusiasm and curiosity! This workshop is your first step toward understanding the potential of a research career, where you can learn about the skills, pathways, and resources available to you as you navigate different career options in your field of study. We hope you learn which career is best for you!
