Dear all,

       We have a few announcements and accomplishments to report!

Accomplishments

CSUN was well-represented at the Western Literature Association’s annual meeting in Oklahoma City, Sept. 21-24:
Scott Andrews presented “Abjection, Survivance, and Stories in Richard Van Camp’s The Lesser Blessed”;

Kimberly Teaman Carroll presented “Emerging into the Upper World: Migration as Enlightenment and Resistance in American Indigenous Mythologies” as part of the MELUS panel;

and Meagan Meylor presented ” ‘Maybe we’re all clouds in one form or another’ : Indigenous Literary Atmosphere of Southern California.”

The English department certainly made an impact with the Class of 2025!
As part of CSUN’s Annual Survey of Graduating Seniors, students were invited to recognize up to three faculty or staff members who had the most significant impact on their educational journey. We had multiple faculty members receive this recognition–wow! Well done, and congratulations! At least one graduate from the Class of 2025 chose to honor the following faculty:
  • Tina Bertacchi-Love
  • Amanda Harrison
  • Audrey Thacker
  • Colleen Tripp
  • …and more! (Others were honored but chose not to report for TN)
