This session is aimed at individuals, organizations, and enterprises who need to create accessible documents from inception, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and document accessibility.
With thousands of internal and public-facing documents produced daily within many organizations, a strategic approach is needed to comply with regulatory requirements in the US and worldwide. So why not make it easy and start at the beginning, at the document creation phase?
Organizations must guarantee compliance with various accessibility standards or face severe and expensive consequences. Millions of users face the challenge of creating accessible and compliant documents. Historically, making Word documents accessible has required a thorough knowledge of Word functionality, as well as an in-depth understanding of document accessibility. However, most content authors are unfamiliar with accessibility standards and are equally unprepared for the additional time required to make each document compliant. Furthermore, it would cost tremendous amounts of time and money to make every document author an expert in Microsoft Word and accessibility standards. This would seem an incredibly overwhelming and expensive task, but it doesn’t have to be. We will discuss solutions that make the process much easier and more cost-effective.
