- Description
-
Museums, art galleries, and cultural spaces increasingly rely on digital technologies to engage visitors with their collections. It is vital that such experiences are accessible to people with disabilities. This presentation describes how accessibility was integrated into the design and development of a free mobile app featuring digital guides to cultural institutions around the world.
TPGi partnered with Bloomberg Connects to improve accessibility features of the app, which now provides the means for people with disabilities to engage with cultural institutions and experience their content in an accessible and inclusive way. The presentation will cover the way key accessibility barriers were identified and addressed, reflect on how the results of usability testing with people with disabilities helped verify the quality of the app’s user experience, and consider future developments.
