Organizations of all sizes are required to provide accessible documents to their customers, but large financial services companies face unique challenges when it comes to developing and implementing an enterprise document accessibility strategy. While regulatory compliance is critical, there are a number of other factors to consider. Attendees will learn about the key elements of a robust document accessibility strategy, including staff training, security concerns, remediation tools and testing processes. In addition, This session will cover the following issues:
• Defining the scope;
• Prioritizing content for remediation;
• Establishing a training plan;
• Determining roles and responsibilities;
• Developing both a short- and long-term strategy;
• Understanding the difference between static and transactional material;
• Addressing concerns of various teams (e.g. legal, business, IT, content creators); and
• Ensuring that end users are aware of the services being offered.
Generating an enterprise-wide document accessibility strategy can seem like a daunting task. This session will present an approach based on industry best practices that not only meets legal requirements but also addresses the needs of large financial services companies.
