38th Annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference Has Concluded
Make Course Content Accessible at Scale with AI
- Date & Time
-
Thursday, March 16, 2023 - 1:20 PM PST
- Location
-
Platinum 3 (CRAWFORD TECHNOLOGIES)
- Description
-
Learners need access to educational course content in accessible formats. This becomes difficult with so many creators generating content. Since content creation is not centralized, we can't embed accessibility practices at point of origin. So, educational institutions need a way to make existing content accessible.
This session will show a workflow process that solves this problem. Attendees will see a tool automatically route MS Office or PDF content to an AI Engine to:
• Pre-tag files to approximately 80% completion,
• Preserve key accessibility elements already created by authors, and
• Ready content to be made 100% accessible by a workstation product.
The solution drastically reduces time to market for course materials. What would have taken 5 hours, now takes less than 1 hour. This translates directly to improved student success. Plus, it reduces reputational risk while enabling content platforms to capture market share.
