38th Annual CSUN Assistive Technology Conference Has Concluded
ARIA 1.1/1.2 - A Practical Perspective
- Date & Time
-
Wednesday, March 15, 2023 - 11:20 AM PST
- Location
-
Grand JK
- Description
-
We will start our presentation by covering what developers need to verify before they add an ARIA role or attribute to their code;
in particular the importance of making sure there is sufficient user agent support for that attribute to actually provide a solution.
Then we will briefly review our most and least useful attributes from ARIA 1.1, explain where there are significant support gaps, and present a list of browser and screen reader defects that have been filed in order to encourage the people in the audience to help promote those defects and close those gaps.
Time permitting, we will demonstrate 1 or 2 of those issues live during our presentation.
Finally we will reveal our short list of most exciting proposed attributes for ARIA 1.2 and beyond.
