Date & Time

Location

Description
Up until now, (1) if you did not own your own computer, you could not have AT that you could use at school, at home (for homework), at the tutor’s, at the library or anywhere else. (2) Even if you had your own computer, there are times when you need to use other computers – at school, in labs, at testing centers, at work – and your assistive technologies are not on the computers you need to use – and/or (3) the AT are not set up for you. Kind of like being provided with glasses that are not your prescription and having to study, or work, or take a test with those. With Assistive Technology on Demand – a new service being introduced by non-profit Raising the Floor which works in conjunction with the *free* Morphic program – AT users can now have their assistive technologies show up on any computers they need to use – and have the AT configured just as they need it. This can be computers at school, libraries, community centers, testing centers, or family members (grandma, cousins etc.), any computer that has the free Morphic program installed on it. Currently Morphic is being installed on shared computers at major universities, library systems, disability organizations, clinical and rehabilitation programs across the country. Our program is looking for additional sites and systems to help further deploy, explore, and continually improve the service. We will present and demonstrate it here as well as seek feedback during session. Then invite them to exhibit hall to try.
