Native Mobile Accessibility – Dreaming and Brainstorming

Date & Time
Tuesday, March 14, 2023 - 10:20 AM PST
Location
Elite 1-3
Description
Native Mobile Applications are often seen with a company as extensions of, or even copies of, their corresponding web offerings. Designed as copies of the user experiences and business values. This leads to clunky experiences and a lack of success of Native Mobile offerings and ultimately to… inaccessibility and inclusivity. A certain amount of feature and value parity within offerings makes sense. However, there is also a great deal of power for users in leveraging Native Centric features to deliver values that only a device that is carried on your person 24/7, with intricate sensors and features of its own, can provide! In this session we will discuss: - The collection of native specific devices and sensors. - How companies like Uber and Lyft have built entire market segments from Native. - How CVS is using these in SpokenRx to deliver customer value om the health sector. - A myriad of other ideas to kick start conversation. Finally, we will close out with open discussion about other features that we can bring to Native Applications to better serve users with disabilities and their needs.
