Deciding to make your website accessible is an easy decision – knowing how to start and what to do can be a daunting endeavor! Let Converge Accessibility group show you an approach that has proven successful for many organizations.
This presentation presents the steps any organization to start the process of bringing web sites into compliance with accessibility laws and regulations. We will share the lessons learned from hundreds of other customers and a simple, logical approach to solve real-world web accessibility problems that incorporates accessibility into organization’s culture.
Ken Nakata will introduce the laws concerning website accessibility and some very practical and immediate steps that can be taken to reduce web site liability, such as creating an accessibility statement and the types of issues that tend to create liability.
Jeff Singleton will take the conversation deeper into the technical aspects of establishing the testing approach and developing a plan for the initial web accessibly audit. Attendees will learn how to kick start an accessibility program, how to balance manual and automated testing, and how to create a simple end-to-end web accessibility lifecycle that fits any development environment.
