Digital accessibility is essential to include people with disabilities in our digital world. This is part of human rights and also, it is a law. But, is it enough to force large financial firms to consider the accessibility of their products? Financial inclusion is an often-overlooked component of development policy, and this is especially true when it comes to people with disabilities. But with disabled people representing a market possibly worth $1 trillion, the financial-services sector has every reason to take the lead on the issue. As per the World Bank data, 15% of the world’s population (Almost 1 billion people), experience some form of disability. And to ensure that they can use your products, it is imperative for large organizations to consider digital accessibility in their products. Indeed, there are many challenges to executing the accessibility policy in the Fintech firms, which include the lack of awareness of accessibility, custom requirements, and complex products. This presentation gives the overall scenario of the challenges and a glimpse of the roadmap for accessibility strategy in financial organizations.
