This session will focus on debunking some common misconceptions of DeafBlind peoples and the use of technology. We’ll look at common routines performed by DeafBlind and the technology needed to successfully perform these tasks. Some of these tasks consist of morning routines such as waking up, making breakfast, etc., using technology to perform tasks at work, basic communication, traveling, and overall access to technology. Discussion will also include resources to obtain these items. Moreover, we will look at companies that have designed hardware and software specifically for DeafBlind. We’ll also look at mainstream tech companies making their devices accessible to all. In addition, share personal narratives and technology challenges by DeafBlind folks. Ultimately, answering how can technology support DeafBlind?
