- Description

Native Mobile Operating Systems are gradually taking over in terms of dominating users’ digital engagement time. As this trend continues there is a growing relationship between the following concepts:
- The promise of the business opportunity mobile applications present.
- Mobile devices finding their way to late adopters, particularly older generations.
- Users with cognitive conditions finding comfort in the Simplicity of Native.
- Developing applications that respect platform Accessibility Configurations.
It is in the overlap of these concepts that truly successful Native Applications reside. How do we leverage these concepts to make our users, and in turn our business, more successful? The answer comes down to one thing Native Mobile Applications must have to be successful:
- Conceptual Integrity.
In this presentation I will walk attendees through the various breakdowns that a lack of conceptual integrity leads to within Native Mobile Design including structural issues, user confusion, and basic misuse of platform APIs. We will discuss the concept of the limited space of Native Mobile devices and how it forces us to design more simply. Relating it back to how a lack of Conceptual Integrity prevents us from leveraging the simplicity of Mobile Design and therefore failing to leverage the business value of Mobile.
