Description

For 3 years LADD's Smart Living program has been changing the way the I/DD system provides service. Using a technology-first mindset, and backed by research through the OT program at Xavier University this model has shown tremendous success. This session will detail what Smart Living is and present the research data on how this model both saves the system financially, but also increases the level of independence of the individuals at a high level. This model also allows to provide services to more individual with less staff to assist with staffing issues.

The way community-based services in the I/DD field has hit a crisis point. With not enough funding for the growing population, and not enough staff to meet the need a new way of delivering services must be implemented.
