Northridge sweeps CSUB softball in doubleheader

Cal State Bakersfield was swept in a non-conference softball doubleheader Sunday by Cal State Northridge, 10-2 and 9-2, in the Roadrunners’ final games before opening Western Athletic Conference play on Friday. -- Bakersfield Californian

Northern Arizona’s Sofia Anokhina took home individual medalist honors and was the only player to finish the tournament under par. Anokhina shot a three-under par 69 in the first-round and had a two stroke lead going into the second-round. She shot par in the second and finished the tournament at 3-under par with 141 strokes. Cal State Northridge’s Yasabel Tran was the runner up as she shot even (75-69-144). Sacramento State’s Sofie Babic came in third place at 1-over par (75-70-145). Anokhina and Nevada’s Chaithra Katamneni tied for the most birdies with nine. -- Vermillion Plain Talk - SD

Washington softball not having any fun in desert as they fall to Arizona again

• Washington State (13-7) split a nonconference doubleheader against Cal State Northridge, improving to 9-0 at home. James Rudkin drove in four runs in the opener, an 11-7 win. Ryan Walker threw six scoreless innings in the nightcap, a 3-0 win, giving up five hits and a walk. He struck out six. -- The Seattle Times - WA

UH men’s volleyball sweeps CSUN

Sophomore opposite Stijn van Tilburg put down 13 kills and No. 4 Hawaii won its 20th consecutive home match tonight, sweeping No. 14 Cal State Northridge, 25-18, 25-23, 26-24 in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation men’s volleyball contest at the Stan Sheriff Center. -- Honolulu Star-Advertiser
