CSUN baseball win gives Long Beach State Big West title

Two-time defending Big West Conference baseball champion Cal State Fullerton on Sunday dropped an 8-4 decision at Cal State Northridge, meaning Long Beach State won the outright title by virtue of its 2-1 victory over Hawaii, giving the Dirtbags a four-game lead over the Titans with only a three-game series left to play against each other. -- Daily Breeze

Skyline lefty Cole Watts to transfer to South Alabama

Watts is the third player from the 2017 Skyline team to sign as a Division I transfer. Center fielder Ryan McSwain — who ranked third in the state in on-base percentage (.539) and runs scored (60) — committed to University of Nevada-Reno.
