Global Logistics Management Project

 

Dear Students,

It is with great pleasure to report to you that the United States Department of Education has awarded the College of Business & Economics at California State University, Northridge a $165,000 grant to improve the academic teaching of the global supply chain management curriculum at CSUN, as well as to conduct outreach activities to local businesses in the San Fernando Valley by assisting them to become more competitive in exporting their goods or services.

Among other activities, the grant will support the following initiatives:

Practical Learning and Networking Opportunities:
Including Internships and Jobs

To promote the understanding of current developments in the f11/17/08rovide valuable opportunities for career networking, the grant provides f9/2511/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/0811/17/08ain/logistics planning, inventory management, production planning, transportation management and international logistics management.

Cross Cultural Understanding of Business:

Another curriculum related goal of the project is to dramatically expand students' cross-cultural understanding and experience of business. In collaboration with the College of Humanities , the grant supports the development of courses in culture, language and business in two regional areas: Latin America and Asia.

 Field Trips to China and Mexico:

To enhance the classroom experience, the grant provides generous subsidies to undergraduate students to travel during their spring break as part of a faculty led tour to Mexico and China . These tours would combine cultural emersion and field visits of facilities and businesses involved in global logistics.
