The Inspiring Journeys of CSUN’s Newest Graduates

This May, more than 11,700 students were eligible to graduate, celebrating the completion of a major milestone in their educational journeys. Each student’s experience is unique. CSUN helped them find their voices, discover their passions, and realize what kinds of people they want to be. Here are some of their stories.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Cheers to the Class of 2019-2020!

With an in-person commencement delayed, the campus community came together online to celebrate the Class of 2019-2020. The university honored its graduates with a “Cheers to the Class of 2019-2020” virtual celebration, and dozens of seniors shared photos of themselves in caps, gowns and sashes — many of which are included here.

Safe at Home, Graduation Parties Commence

Stay-at-home orders didn’t stop CSUN’s newest alumni from celebrating their big accomplishments at home with cake, flowers and balloons — and plenty of pride. One senior’s family even built a mini facade of the CSUN Library in their backyard, so they could hold their own ceremony at home.

Music Legend Joe Walsh Brings ‘Old-Fashioned Rock ’n’ Roll Radio’ to 88.5-FM

After the pandemic grounded his summer tour with the Eagles, Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Joe Walsh offered to host his own weekly radio show on CSUN and Saddleback College’s public, member-supported 88.5-FM, Southern California’s leading Triple-A (adult album alternative) format station.
