Biology Class Looks for
Vaccine Clues in COVID-19 Virus Protein

Students in David Bermudes’ biology class have turned their focus to studying the virus behind the COVID-19 global pandemic, and believe they have identified a potential Achilles’ heel. Bermudes hopes to publish this work quickly, contributing to the worldwide efforts to create an effective vaccine.

 
 
 
 
 
 

Students Present Innovative Projects as Senior Design Project Showcase Goes Virtual

Students wowed the virtual audience with 24 projects at the annual College of Engineering and Computer Science’s Senior Design Project Showcase. Projects included a drone that can save lives, a robot that can paint walls, a computer system that can control a fleet of bots, and much more.

Recent Grad Named National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow

Shawntel Barreiro ’18 (Linguistics and Chicana/o Studies), who was a Wolfson Scholar at CSUN, was selected to be part of the new cohort of the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program. Past fellows include 42 Nobel Prize recipients.
