To Honor George Floyd, CSUN Community Calls for Change

CSUN students, faculty, staff and leadership reacted with outrage, horror and grief and called for change following the senseless killing of George Floyd. Numerous campus organizations spoke out for equality and justice and engaged in conversations to show support for Black students.

 
 
 
 
 
 

COVID-19 Is Killing People of Color at Higher Rates. CSUN Researchers Are Fighting Back.

Nationwide and on a local level, communities of color are disproportionately affected by coronavirus cases and deaths. The CSUN Health Equity and Research (HERE) Center was created in 2019 to research and address these types of issues, with the goal of improving health equity in the Los Angeles region.

Insects Inspire Swarms of Robots for Space Exploration

Working with partners including NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and Intel, CSUN mechanical engineering professor Nhut Ho, founding director of the NASA Autonomy Research Center for STEAHM (ARCS), is developing swarms of fully autonomous robots capable of planetary exploration and search and rescue in extreme environments. Ho’s work received a $538,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Defense.
