Matadors Deliver the Vaccine

Students and alumni of CSUN’s health programs were instrumental in delivering the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in California. Dozens of CSUN nursing students are assisting with vaccinations at local hospitals. In Northern California, Terri Stratton ’78 (Health Science), M.P.H. ’85 (Public Health), the chief executive officer of El Dorado Community Health Centers, is overseeing efforts to vaccinate thousands of individuals in her community.

Jonathan Kelber, associate professor of biology, is the first CSUN faculty member to receive the California State University Program for Education and Research in Biotechnology (CSUPERB) Faculty Research Award. The award honors a faculty member within the CSU who has made a significant impact through their research and creation of a biotechnology-related research program.
