CSUN President-Select Introduces Herself in Virtual Conversation

CSUN’s sixth president-select, Erika D. Beck, introduced herself to the university community with a virtual conversation with alumnus and CNBC anchor-at-large Bill Griffeth ’80 (Journalism), Hon.D. ’17. During their talk, Beck promised to listen to individuals at every level of the university and build a coalition to realize a brighter, just and more equitable future together.

With former Vice President Joe Biden the president-elect of the United States, U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris will make history as the first female vice president. And by her side, her husband, CSUN alumnus Doug Emhoff ’87 (Communication Studies), will also be making history as the nation’s first “Second Gentleman.”

CSUN Honors String Quartet Joins The Soraya’s Linda Ronstadt Tribute Airing Nov. 18 on KCET

CSUN student musicians, including the CSUN Honors String Quartet, joined Latin music stars Aida Cuevas, La Marisoul, Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar and special guests David Hidalgo from Los Lobos and Sarah Watkins in celebrating trailblazing singer Linda Ronstadt in a televised special filmed at The Soraya, airing Nov. 18 on KCET. The show will later air on PBS SoCal and be available for streaming.
