Matadors Forward

September 3, 2021

Dear Colleagues,

It’s been a great first week of classes! As CSUN continues to welcome many students – and many of you – back to campus, as well as to virtual learning, we continue to rely on your help to keep our Matador community safe.

If you have not already done so, all students, faculty, staff and student employees coming to campus for any reason are expected to complete the COVID-19 vaccination certification process by September 30, 2021. For our represented employees, this timeline is encouraged and allows you to opt out of weekly testing while the meet and confer process with our union partners is finalized and additional details are communicated. 70% of our employees have already certified they are fully vaccinated. Please help us increase this number!

Here are the simple steps and quick links to follow:

COMPLETE YOUR SELF-CERTIFICATION TO LET US KNOW YOUR STATUS.

Visit myNorthridge Portal. Once logged in, go to the Policies and Procedures pagelet, select the EE Vaccine Self Certification link and follow the directions to select one of the following three options:

  • Upload your COVID-19 vaccination information;
  • Request a medical or religious exemption; OR
  • Inform us if you are not planning to physically access or perform work at CSU facilities.

Not yet vaccinated? Here’s how to get your COVID-19 vaccine.

Vaccination plays one of the most vital roles in keeping our campus and community healthy, and we encourage all who can be vaccinated to do so as soon as possible.

  • If you are receiving the Johnson and Johnson/Janssen COVID-19 vaccine, you must receive your single dose by September 16 in order to meet the September 30 timeline. If you have already had your first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine but not yet completed your second dose, the last day to receive the second dose of both is also September 16 in order to be fully vaccinated by September 30.
  • Make your free appointment through myturn.ca.gov.

SIGN UP FOR TESTING (Does not apply to you if you are fully vaccinated and have submitted your certification or if you will not be coming to campus at all.)

Employees who are not yet fully vaccinated or have received a medical or religious exemption will need to take weekly, free COVID-19 PCR tests if coming to campus for any reason.

  • A negative COVID-19 PCR test result is required within 7 days of coming to campus and weekly thereafter.
  • Please visit COVID-19 Employee Testing for information on how to schedule testing or have a test kit mailed to you.
  • If you have questions about testing, call 818-677-6566 or email employeecovidtesting@csun.edu.

BEFORE COMING TO CAMPUS, COMPLETE YOUR DAILY SCREENING

Please remember that everyone – vaccinated and unvaccinated – must complete this daily screening before coming on campus: Employee Health Screening Survey

Thank you to the many of you who have already submitted your self certification. If you’d like more details about COVID-19 vaccinations and testing requirements, please visit the Matadors Forward website or email er@csun.edu with any questions.

We also appreciate your help guiding students to the relevant steps they will need to complete to certify vaccination status. Students who are enrolled in courses with on-campus, face-to-face components and who have not completed the certification process by September 30 will be disenrolled from these courses. Student information can be found in the Matadors Forward Student FAQs.

As we move forward in the fall semester, health and safety continue to be our driving force. Matadors, let’s continue to take care of ourselves and take care of each other as we fulfill our important mission. Have a wonderful Labor Day holiday weekend and continue to be safe and be well.

Sincerely,
