CSUN Is a National Leader for Fulbright U.S. Scholars

CSUN was honored with the second-most Fulbright awards from among the nation’s master’s-level institutions for the 2018-2019 academic year. CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison and two professors, Joanne Scillitoe and Mintesnot Woldeamanuel, were named U.S. Scholars to travel abroad and study in their respective areas of interest.

For the second straight year, CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison and Chandra Subramaniam, dean of CSUN’s David Nazarian College of Business and Economics, were recognized in the Los Angeles Business Journal’s LA500, a list of L.A.’s most influential people.

Jeff Okabayashi ’85 (Radio/TV Production) has worked as an assistant director on some of the most popular movies of all time, including “Avengers: Endgame.” He has drawn from that experience to give back to his alma mater.

Symbol of Resilience: The Life and Times of the Oviatt’s American Flag

In 2000, CSUN rededicated and reopened the rebuilt wings of the Oviatt Library, which was badly damaged in the 1994 earthquake. As a symbol of resilience, the Oviatt added an impressive 12-by-18 foot American flag.
