TTT Requirements


Once you get accepted into the scholarship program, these are the things you will need to complete.
  1. Orientation:
During this orientation, the project assistant will go over all the requirements for TTT and the process of getting the scholarship. You will also sign a contract with TTT and take surveys.
  1. Advisement Session (At the end of each semester):
Make sure you schedule an advisement session with Dr. Clara C. Park to report all classes you have completed and find out about any new information for TTT. Please contact the project assistant to schedule an appointment.
  1. Enrichment Workshops:
There will be workshops provided to help you prepare for each of the required components for TTT exit portfolio.  Please note that this TTT exit portfolio is different than the one that you will turn into the credential program. Although these workshops are optional, you should make sure to attend any and all workshops necessary to help you complete your Portfolio.

The workshops offered through TTT are:
    •     Excel Grade Book Workshop
    •     PowerPoint Workshop
    •     Video Editing Workshop
    •     Blackboard/ Web page Creation Workshop
  1. One-day Annual Retreat:
Each year in August, TTT offers a joint annual retreat with California Association for Asian Pacific American Education (CAAPAE). It is a mini one-day conference on a Saturday usually offered on CSUN campus. Although you don't pay for the registration fee, you must fill out a registration form to the project office.
  1. Student Teaching
During this time make sure you video-tape yourself student teaching so that you can prepare a 20-minute movie on a quicktime format for a part of the exit portfolio. You may checkout a camcorder along with a tripod to film yourself.

Also, during your student teaching, plan to present a PowerPoint lesson to your class. You may check out a LCD projector and a laptop from the TTT project office.

  1. Exit Portfolio:
Here are the required documents for the TTT exit portfolio.
      • Unofficial transcript
      • (3) Excel Grade Books of your classes or subject areas
      •  Lesson created using PowerPoint on lesson topic
      • Movie of your student teaching (in QuickTime format), of at least 20 minutes in length. Also, digitally edited and burned onto a CD.
      • Printout of Web page created for your class.
      • Copies of your student teaching evaluations from both your University Supervisor and Master Teacher - should reflect two semester of student teaching.
      • (3) Lessson plans, (3) weekly, and (3) semester overviews from three different classes or subject areas which include the use of the Internet resources or computer technology in class. (Weekly and semester overviews should be extenstions of lesson plans, providing a synopsis of the curriculum and activities during the particular week or semester.)
  1. Exit Interview:
During this exit interview, you will present your all the necessary document for the TTT exit portfolio and show your student teaching movie. You will fill out the exit interview form and take some surveys. Please allow yourself to spend about an hour for the exit interview.
  1. Mentor & Teacher Questionnaire:
Once you have finished the credential coursework, you are required to teach with LAUSD for at least three years. During the first year, you and your mentor teacher(s) are required to fill out the questionnaires. You are required to seek for a mentor teacher from the school where you are teaching. He/she must be willing to provide you with guidance and feedbacks that you need to improve your teaching skills throughout the semester and fill out some paper at the end of the each semester.

Once you obtain a mentor teacher, please provide the mentor teachers information by filling out the following mentor teacher's information form and submitting it to the TTT project so that your mentor teacher can receive an honorarium.
