The TTT Scholarship Award provides students with full scholarship
reimbursement of tuition and textbook expenses, etc., provided that
students maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA during the duration of their
entire credential coursework.
TTT Students are required to teach within LAUSD for a minimum of three
years after obtaining their teaching credentials. Students are not
restricted to a certain area within LAUSD, but may choose to work for
any school therein.
The Transition To Teaching Scholarship Award is funded by the U.S.
Department of Education for a five-yera term, begun in October, 2002
and ending in September 2007. Students pursuing credential coursework
during this time may qualify for scholarship.
A major requirement for selected TTT Scholarship Award recipients is
completion of a Student Teaching Portfolio during his/her last semester
of credential cousework. There is also an Annual One-Day Retreat for
all TTT students in August, and other workshops.
Eligibility
Pursuing coursework towards single subject credential in
mathematics, science, English, social studies, foreign languages, or
multiple subject credential
Commitment to multicultural/bilingual education and pursuing a
BCLAD (Bilingual Cross-cultural, Language and Academic Development)
credential at CSUN and/or fluent in Armenian, Cambodian, Chinese,
Korean, Pilipino, Spanish or Vietnamese
Received 2.67 GPA minimum in college coursework (B.A. or B.S.). or most recent degree
One selected, students must maintain 3.0 GPA during credntial coursework to remain eligible for scholarship
Required to teach within LAUSD for minimum of three years after obtaining credential
