NABJ students tour NBC, learn about careers in PR

CSUN students meet members of the NBC Entertainment publicity team and learn about jobs and internships.

Members of NBC Entertainment’s publicity department hosted the Department of Journalism’s student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists for a two-hour information session on careers in entertainment public relations.

Four members of the Student Association of Black Communicators, including chapter president Janaè Franklin, board member Kayla Law and NABJ-SABC chapter members Alyssa Clark and Jasmine Vaughan heard about career opportunities at NBC through Internships and the Page Program.

The hosts included three CSUN Journalism alums:  Stuart Levine, a former member of the Daily Sundial who is NBC’s VP of Editorial & Media Relations, Tucker Nesbitt, the 2012 KTA Outstanding Graduating Senior and press coordinator at NBC, along with Kevin Castech, a 2013 graduate who is a press coordinator in the publicity department.  Also joining the group was press manager Akiva Griffith and digital analyst Austin Stack who also coordinates NBCs internship program.
