Dr. Spratt Serving as Co-Project Director

December 17, 2020

Congratulations to Dr. Rachael King and our very own Dr. Danielle Spratt for the $149,402 grant they will receive from the National Endowment for the Humanities!

Dr. King will serve as the Project Director and Dr. Spratt as the Co-Project Director for the project titled, "Hidden Archives: Race, Gender, and Religion in UCSB’s Ballitore Collection." It is a two-year project that focuses on the digitization and examination of abolitionist materials to be included in experiential learning and curriculum development. The grant will be housed at UCSB, but will train both UCSB and CSUN students in archival and Digital Humanities methods. Ellen Jarosz, Head of CSUN’s Special Collections and Archives, will also offer training and guidance to the project participants.

Please join us in congratulating them on this wonderful accomplishment!
