KABC Features Magaram Center and Champions for Change Program

KABC featured the Marilyn Magaram Center's Champions for Change Program which is helping parents and children learn to garden and make healthy food choices. The column and video feature project participants at Christopher Columbus Middle School in Canoga Park. The CSUN Institute for Community Health and Wellbeing and Neighborhood Partners in Action partnered to develop the Magaram Center's Champions for Change program thanks to a grant from the Los Angeles Department of Public Health.  Read the column and see the video at KABC. $1.5 Million Gift from Easton Foundation to Support CSUN Archery Students and Engineering Faculty

The sporting goods manufacturing company Jas. D. Easton, Inc., has had a decades-long relationship with CSUN. The Easton family, through the Easton Foundations, has given CSUN $1.5 million for the creation of a fellowship for Engineering faculty and to bolster resources for an archery range to develop the Olympic-style sport of archery on campus and an archery class in the Department of Kinesiology. 2018-19 Northridge Scholars: Three from HHD

The 2018-19 Northridge Scholars were honored recently at an event held at the CSUN University House, home to CSUN President Dianne F. Harrison. The scholarships include financial assistance and access to mentors who can guide students on their paths to success. Out of 127 applicants, just three students were awarded Presidential Scholarships, and 24 were recognized as University Scholars. One Presidential Scholar and two University Scholars are from the College of Health and Human Development. Read more
