CSUN Athletics has announced the hiring of Julieanne Manning as Director of Finance and Operations. Manning will be the primary financial officer and human resources liaison for the athletics department, in addition to managing the day-to-day Athletics Business Office operations and staff. “We are thrilled to have Julieanne join our Matador Athletics team,” said Executive Associate Athletics Director Valerie Richardson. Manning most recently served as the manager of the Finance Team for the Los Angeles County Risk Management Branch. -- CollegeAD

Singleton earned a master’s degree at Arizona, spent two years as a graduate assistant coach on Tomey’s staff and then took an entry-level job with Cal State Northridge’s football program. Purves was hired as an active consultant of San Miguel in 2014, after he led the Indonesia Warriors to the Asean Basketball League (ABL) Finals where they lost to, ironically, the Beermen in the 2013 season. Prior to San Miguel and Indonesia, Purves held positions as director of basketball operations for the Sacramento State Hornets, assistant coach of Cal State Northridge, and video intern and video coordinator of the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. -- Sports Interactive Network - Philippines

Alford Announces Staff Additions for Wolf Pack Men's Basketball

Stephens joins the Wolf Pack staff after most recently working at Cal State Northridge. Originally from Southern California, he played football at the University of Idaho where he was a triple major in sociology, psychology and justice studies. He later returned to Idaho as a graduate assistant and worked in academics for the Vandals athletic department while working his master’s degree in education. He then served as an academic coordinator for the Vandals. -- KTVN

Belmontes made herself an invaluable asset for the Mustangs during her career, supplying a power bat while playing the key positions of shortstop and center field. The Cal State Northridge signee led Costa Mesa (12-12, 8-2) to a second-place finish in the Orange Coast League and a berth in the CIF Southern Section Division 6 playoffs. Belmontes sported a batting average of .567 with 30 runs scored and 29 RBIs. The first-team All-Orange Coast League pick had 12 doubles, eight home runs and two triples. In her final Battle for the Bell game against Estancia, Belmontes homered twice with nine RBIs in a 15-6 victory on April 5. Belmontes, a three-time Dream Team member, also earned her second consecutive All-CIF Southern Section selection. --Daily Pilot

Meanwhile, it wasannounced in June that Wender was leaving Army West Point, where he had been head coach for 13 years (2006-2019). Prior West Point, Wender coached at the University of Washington from 1998 to 2006, and at the University of California, Santa Cruz from 1992 to 1998. Wender began his collegiate coaching career at Cal State University Northridge, where he assisted Coach Pete Accardy from 1990 to 1992, after serving as the coach at Sachem High School in New York the year before. In addition to the many collegiate jobs, Wender also served as the Olympic head coach for American Samoa at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. --SwimSwam.com
