Electronic Portfolio - Website
(1) Develop a website
Answer all questions thoughtfully and in your own words. Document all assignments with screen captures or links to files you have made . Your website should appear professional and have links to all assignments.
- Open a Google Account, and complete your profile in your Google Account and Blogger account.
- Develop a website for your portfolio using Google Sites.
- Put the URL of your website in the class database.
- Formatting: Use the the headings that appear on the assignment pages (e.g. (1) Develop a website; (2) Professional). The headings of each sub-section should be formatted in heading-2 sytle.
(2) Professional Information
- Embed a photograph of yourself in the upper right portion of your home page. This photograph should illustrate the concept of chroma-keying and illustrate the photo taken of you in class in a totally different setting.
- Textural Information
- Professional Background: Write one or more paragraphs in which you explain your educational and professional background. Include links to the high schools, colleges, and universities you have attended. Identify degrees earned and the fields of study in which they were obtained.
- Teaching: Explain how you became interested in education as a career, and describe the classes and levels you teach or would like to teach. Provide a link to a website you will develop to teach your subject.
- Interests and Hobbies: Describe your interests and hobbies. You can provide links to your favorite sports teams or organizations.
- Contact Information: Include your email address
- Editor: Identify your editor and include a link to his or her website.
- Blog: Include a link to the blog where your editor will make comments on your progress. (You will develop the log in the assignment on communications.
(3) Photographs
- Include photographs of notable people in your field of study, correctly labeled and posted on a photo website.
- Include photographs related to your field of study (samples) correctly labeled and posted on a photo website.
- Include photographs taking by you with your camera. If possible, it is best to have ones that are relevant to your curriculum.
(4) School Information
- Provide a link to your school website. (Use CSUN if you are not currently teaching)
- Provide a link to a navigable aerial & street map of your campus
(5) Sidebar links to all assignments
- Copy the assignment names into the sidebar of your website.
- Create a new web page for each assignment by making a link from the items you have just pasted into the sidebar.
