Welcome to the Positive Space ProgramThe Positive Space Program (PSP) is a volunteered committee of faculty, staff and students whose purpose is provide support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersexed, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTIQQ) campus community. PSP began in Spring 2002 with the support of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the College of Humanities and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. One of our main work is the Ally Project that provides LGBTIQQ sensitivity trainings to our campus community and creates allies across campus. Other future projects we anticipate would be to organize social and educational events, such as film screenings and special guest speakers during Coming Out Week, for our LGBTIQQ community and for our allies. Please revisit our page for updates on upcoming events and trainings! We just updated our Ally list and resources page, check them out! GOOD NEWS: while the Ally Training Project will be on hiatus this Spring 2008, please look out for events to launch the NEW QUEER STUDIES MINOR PROGRAM ON CAMPUS. The Queer Studies Minor will begin in Fall 2008! There will be at least one section offered on Perspectives in Queer Studies (QS 301). And, yes, it's an upper division GE course in Comparative Cultural Studies! 01/10/08 |
