Welcome to the Positive Space Program

The Positive Space Program (PSP) is a volunteered committee of faculty, staff and students whose purpose is provide support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Intersexed, Queer, and Questioning (LGBTIQQ) campus community.

PSP began in Spring 2002 with the support of the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), the College of Humanities and the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences.  One of our main work is the Ally Project that provides LGBTIQQ sensitivity trainings to our campus community and creates allies across campus.  Other future projects we anticipate would be to organize social and educational events, such as film screenings and special guest speakers during Coming Out Week, for our LGBTIQQ community and for our allies.

Please revisit our page for updates on upcoming events and trainings!

We just updated our Ally list and resources page, check them out!

GOOD NEWS: while the Ally Training Project will be on hiatus this Spring 2008, please look out for events to launch the NEW QUEER STUDIES MINOR PROGRAM ON CAMPUS. The Queer Studies Minor will begin in Fall 2008! There will be at least one section offered on Perspectives in Queer Studies (QS 301). And, yes, it's an upper division GE course in Comparative Cultural Studies!

Picture of the Ally Sticker. At the top left corner is a pink triangle with black border that takes up a sixth of the sticker. Inside the pink triangle is a symbol representing maleness, femaleness and transgenderness. Imagine the biological female symbol (circle with upside down cross sticking out at the middle bottom border of the circle) and overlay that with the biological male symbol (circle with arrow shooting out of it’s top right edge). We now have a circle with a cross at the bottom and an arrow on the top right side. Symmetrical to this arrow is another arrow shooting out of the circle’s left top side. Overlay this arrow with the cross and we have a circle with three types of line sticking out of it and each line pointing toward the corner of the triangle. Right of the symbol, is the following text: CSUN ALLY. Underneath these bigger fonts is the centered phrase: Supporting the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersexual, queer and questioning communities. Below the phrase is the centered URL: http://www.csun.edu/~psp/ In smaller font below the URL is the text: A project of the CSUN Positive Space Program. Background of sticker is a fade rainbow color.
