C. Jacob Hale is Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Center for Sex & Gender Research at California State University, Northridge. His research is in interdisciplinary transgender studies, and his publications include articles in GLQ, Social Text, Hypatia, and Perspectives in Biology and Medicine.

Dr. Sheena Malhotra is Associate Professor of Women's Studies at California State University, Northridge. She has worked in the Indian film and television industries and teaches about gender and sexuality in popular culture. Her academic research revolves around Hindi films and television in India, with a particular focus on gender, nation and culture.

Ian Barnard grew up in South Africa, and completed a B.A. Honours degree at the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg . holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of California, San Diego, and is currently Assistant Professor of English at CSUN . has taught courses in queer theory, queer film, and queer literature at The Ohio State University and at CSUN . publications include the book Queer Race: Cultural Interventions in the Racial Politics of Queer Theory and articles on queer theory, politics, and pedagogy in the journals Radical Teacher, Socialist Review, and Women's Studies, and in the anthologies Sexual Artifice and Postcolonial and Queer Theories: Intersections and Essays
All colloquia will take place on the California State University, Northridge, campus, and are free and open to the public. Parking at CSUN costs $5.
